In collaboration with the BIOMASS Research Centre of the Catholic University of Piacenza tests are carried out aimed at optimizing the reduction of the total content of heavy metals (Zn, Ni, Cd, Pb, Cu and Cr), by implementing the already identified MWO method.
The objective of the project is to study the metals for which legal limits have been established by law for their use in agriculture (Legislative Decree no. 99/92).
In particular, the research aims to improve the reduction and subsequent recovery of some metals, in view of a forthcoming review of the above mentioned legislation, with a possible revision of the limits of the contents of the metals in question.
Furthermore ever increasingly more efficient systems are being investigated for the dewatering of the material post-treatment, for the separation of metals from the leachate and for their recovery.
